Ford UK is banking on the arrival of the all-new Puma Electric to persuade existing customers to make the switch to battery power. To smooth the transition, the firm is launching a new set of incentives under the banner of its Power Promise, designed to reduce the barriers to EV adoption.

The scheme includes a free home charger with energy credit from Octopus Energy, covering up to 10,000 miles of driving, alongside a five-year service plan that includes EV-specific towing. The battery and high-voltage components are also backed by an eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty.

Ford already offers the Mustang Mach-E, Explorer, and Capri EVs, all based on bespoke electric platforms. But the arrival of an electric version of the Puma, Britain’s best-selling car, is crucial for the brand’s ambitions to expand its EV sales. The Power Promise follows similar offers from rival manufacturers and was shaped by customer feedback. Ford’s research found that a quarter of drivers were put off EVs due to concerns over the complexity of making the switch.

While the free charger is the centrepiece of the deal, Ford is also catering for buyers who can’t install one—offering £500 in charging credit instead. At the same time, the company is increasing promotion of its Blue Oval Charging Network, which provides access to around 33,000 public chargers via Ford’s app.
