Subaru has unveiled two new all-electric vehicles at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. The brand displayed its newest model, the all-new Subaru Trailseeker - a sort of Solterra estate - alongside a facelift Solterra with a big range boost.
It addresses key criticisms of its predecessor with a claimed 25% range boost thanks to a new battery pack and preconditioning system. This is also said to optimise charging temperatures in cold climates, whether drivers are en route to a charger selected in the sat nav or manually activated. It is said the new model will charge from 10% to 80% in under 35 minutes at up to 150 kW, even in sub-zero conditions.

Design updates include a new lighting signature, redesigned headlamps, a bold front bumper, and fresh 18- or 20-inch wheel options. Aerodynamic tweaks to the rear spoiler improve efficiency, while a new badge and lighting elements amplify its after-dark presence. The Solterra arrives in UK showrooms in early 2026.
The all-new vehicle is named Trailseeker in the US, although the moniker for Europe and the UK is yet to be confirmed, is set to go on sale in the UK in mid-2026. It’s powered by two motors on the front and rear axles, making approximately 375 horsepower and offering towing capacity of up to 1.6 tonnes. It uses the same 74.7-kWh battery as the Solterra, and is said to have a 260 mile range.

UK Pricing and detailed specifications will be available for both vehicles closer to their respective launch dates. The new Solterra is expected in the UK in early 2026, followed by the Trailseeker in mid-2026.
