Ginny Buckley

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Ginny Buckley

The Editor-in-Chief and founder of electrifying.com, Ginny steers the editorial direction and has been at the heart of broadcasting, journalism and cars for over 25 years. She’s a juror for the World Car of the Year Awards and has driven just about everything... the good, the bad and the ugly, but has now fallen for electric. On the TV front she reports on transport and consumer related issues for the ITV1 flagship current affairs programme Tonight, along with Channel 4's award-winning investigative current affairs programme Dispatches and was the launch presenter for ITV’s Men and Motors channel, where she produced and presented motoring programmes for many years. The first electric car she drove was the VW Golf Citystromer back in 1998. She was very young!

Nicola Hume

Associate Editor

Nicola Hume

Nicola Hume is a presenter with a passion and knowledge for cars and motorsport. She’s driven more cars than she’s had hot dinners.

Nicole is associate editor at Electrifying.com and also the host of Talking Bull, the official Red Bull F1 podcast.

She’s becoming known for her fun sense of humour when reviewing. Like this one time, she actually went Christmas Tree shopping in a Caterham.

On her automotive journey she’s worked with ‘What Car?’, ‘CarBuyer’, Auto Express’ and featured on a few Channel 5 shows like ‘The Gadget Show’ and ‘When motorhoming goes horribly wrong’….yep.

She’s also a live presenter at big motorsport events like the British Grand Prix and Formula E. Basically, if it drives and goes fast, Nicola loves it.

Ben Margolis

COO & CFO

Ben Margolis

When he met Ginny back in April 2019, Ben immediately confessed to being confused by the prospect of BHEV/PHEVs/BEVs. So convinced was he by her ability to clear the air, he immediately decided to join her on this exciting Electrifying journey. He may be an #electricnovice but as a Fellow of the ICAEW and with an extensive background supporting and developing scale-up businesses across various sectors, Ben’s hoping to smooth the ride for the team as they hit the fast lane.

Tom Barnard

Editorial Consultant

Tom Barnard

Tom spent a decade as a motoring journalist, mainly on Auto Express before being tempted into public relations for car makers including Vauxhall, Hyundai, Nissan and Mitsubishi. While at Nissan he oversaw the UK press launch of the Leaf electric car and took all of the flak from people who said it would never catch on. So now he’s feeling quite smug. After leaving the PR side he now combines his writing roots and passion for all things electric here at Electrifying. He’s driven an electric car since 2012.

Mike Askew

Deputy Editor & Head of Design

Mike Askew

A true jack of all trades, Mike spent 15 years working as a motoring journalist, traveling the world testing cars for various magazines on what was effectively one long holiday. Mike splits his time between Electrifying and a global creative agency he founded in 2006. Widely regarded as one of the industry's most available and affordable writers, Mike combines his love for all things design with a tireless (and some say tiresome) obsession with electric cars. A car nerd to the core, Mike was one of just a handful of fools to order a new Renault Twizy – a decision he is still paying for (literally). Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2021, Mike currently owns a Volkswagen ID. Buzz and a BMW i3 and would dearly like to add to his collection of tat with an electric motorbike.

Vicky Parrott

Review and Road Test Editor

Vicky Parrott

Vicky Parrott has been an automotive journalist, road tester and presenter since she joined Autocar in 2006, having done so much work experience that they felt obliged to give her a job. After 12 years of reviewing cars for both Autocar and What Car? she joined DrivingElectric as associate editor, which is where she really fell in love with electric cars, and the tech geekery that goes with them and the drive towards sustainable transport. She is also a judge for the European Car of the Year award.

Her dream garage would include everything from a BMW i3 and Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo to a Nissan GT-R, Peugeot 205 GTi and modern Alpine A110. She’d keep the charmingly tatty ‘90s Merc SL that resides in her actual garage, too.
